Why live-in care?

What are the benefits of live-in care?

Live-in care has many benefits when compared to other varieties of care. Although every situation is different and requires a different approach, live-in care is a brilliant option for many people who have greater care needs, but would benefit from remaining in their own house rather than moving into a residential care home. Moving into a care home can be very destabilising and intimidating, especially for those who are very vulnerable, and the flexibility and continuity allowed by live-in care can be invaluable. The level of specially tailored, one-on-one support which a live-in-carer is able to provide is very difficult to match in a residential care setting. Live-in care can help both the client and their loved ones to feel more comfortable and confident.

Familiar surroundings

Remaining in familiar surroundings with your home comforts, pets and family memories can boost wellbeing and help maintain a sense of stability.

One-to-one, personalised care

Live-in carers build a strong friendship with their clients, and get to know their individual needs inside out, allowing them to provide highly personalised and specialised care.

Companionship

The companionship and emotional support a live-in carer provides will help prevent loneliness and improve mental health and wellbeing.

Choice and independence

With live-in care, you can continue to exercise choice over every aspect of your life. You have the choice as to the level of care intervention in your care plan and there are no set rules or routines like you’d find in a care home. Your home, your choice.

Improved health outcomes

Live-in care is most often one-to-one, or can be provided to a couple. This means our carers have lots of time to focus on the small details, which can have a considerable positive impact on the health outcomes of most clients.

Care continuity

With live-in care, you can be assured of greater continuity of care in your home. Care rosters are planned and communicated to you in advance, to give you peace of mind every day.

Excellent value

Live-in care is excellent value when compared to that of a care home. The added value of live-in care comes from a one-to-one personalised approach, which also enables clients to keep the family home and therefore a significant appreciating asset.

Quality assured

Live-in care is most often one-to-one, or can be provided to a couple. This means our carers have lots of time to focus on the small details, which can have a considerable positive impact on the health outcomes of most clients.

Support for all types of required care

Our live-in care service at ENA is available to those experiencing a wide range of different health conditions. We can provide support for those with ongoing conditions like dementia, Parkinson’s and multiple sclerosis, as well as helping those who have experienced a stroke or spinal injury. We are able to help care for people with cerebral palsy and many other physical disabilities. We also provide respectful and dignified care for those with very complex needs, and for those approaching the end of their life. Our care is suitable for both elderly people and younger people with advanced needs, and we provide it on a 24-hour basis, as well as running shorter term respite and interim care services.

Trained carers to support you or your loved ones

At ENA, our live-in carers are highly experienced and knowledgeable, which enables them to help clients with a range of different conditions and needs. Every carer is individually selected through an extremely rigorous recruitment process. This includes numerous background checks and interviews which we use to ensure that each carer is not only a safe pair of hands, but also a compassionate individual who wants to go the extra mile for their client.

We provide extensive training and development for our staff, so that they can advance their careers and continue to provide better and better quality care for our clients. We have been recognised by the Homecare Awards, from whom we received an award for training and development expertise. We put the safety and wellbeing of our clients above all else, and we are proud to have a team of carers who are highly trustworthy, attentive and kind, and share our view that the client’s needs should always come first.
